Family of 12 Sickened With Fungus From Bat Droppings After Visiting Popular Tourist Spot

Twelve people on a family vacation in Costa Rica in December 2024 were sickened with histoplasmosis when they came in contact with bat droppings while touring the popular Venado Caves, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
