A woman has been handed a suspended sentence after reportedly putting her newborn in a garbage bag and hiding it behind a couch in 2022; her partner later placed the bag in a freezer. Monique Ellen Burton was sentenced and avoided jail time after telling a judge that the baby was stillborn.
